About us

Members supporting members.

The Foundation gives the ACQP community a practical way to respond when a member faces hardship, needs guidance or is trying to progress through education and professional development.

Why we exist

Professional community should mean more than a membership card.

Working in construction and the wider built environment can bring periods of uncertainty, financial pressure, ill health, employment change and barriers to learning. The Foundation exists to make sure members have somewhere within their own professional community to start a conversation.

We cannot solve every difficulty, but we can listen, assess requests fairly and consider what practical assistance or signposting may be possible.

Our principles

How Foundation decisions are approached.

01

Respect and discretion

Personal circumstances are handled sensitively, and information is used only to understand and respond to the request.

02

Individual consideration

There is no automatic entitlement. Each application is considered on its own circumstances, available evidence and the resources available.

03

Practical outcomes

We focus on realistic steps that may help stabilise a situation, remove a barrier or connect someone with appropriate specialist assistance.

Status and governance

A member-support initiative operated by ACQP.

The ACQP Foundation is operated by the Association of Construction Quality Professionals. It is not a registered charity. References to donations and Foundation support should therefore be understood within that status.

Donations support the Foundation’s member-focused work and initiatives. Support is discretionary, subject to assessment and availability, and may include guidance, signposting or practical assistance depending on the circumstances.

Responsible boundaries

The Foundation is not an emergency, medical, legal, debt-advice or safeguarding service. Where specialist help is more appropriate, the team may encourage an applicant to contact a suitably qualified or statutory service.
